Hey he cover cool with notes this weekend episode 43 Before we get into the episode, it is Halloween eve or Mischief Night for those that recall. I am fired up this evening because my kids drive me crazy. And I tried to record this intro before I released the podcast on I think it will be released right on or about Halloween time. Spooky season is upon us. I hate Halloween. I just it's not my jam. It's not my holiday. I could do without it. Kids love it. Kids are annoying the crap out of me. Anyways, I talked a lot about random shit this week. In the episode from not trusting people who wear all black sneakers to people who wear khaki pants if you're they're over the age of 18. No longer in school. I don't know there's just something weird about people or other adults that wear khaki pants. dress socks. I have some thoughts I did not share about other items of clothing and are like I don't know, dudes that wear shorts that are too tight or too short. That's weird. Pointy toed shoes always get me out of the particularly of the female persuasion. I gotta be honest, I hate the word loafer. I think a loafer for anybody, man woman or otherwise, he shim the is she she them they I don't care. If you're wearing a loafer get rid of it, get rid of it, burn it, throw it away, give to a donate it somebody really needs to shoot. I can't stand the grossed me out to make me sick. Anyways. lots to say about Harbaugh and Michigan football obviously as a University of Miami, the real u m grad. I am not a fan of Michigan. It's also in call with our place. I don't understand the appeal to each their own, not for me. Really never liked Harbaugh. There's just something about him I talk a lot about similar people that I find odd in life and in the world. Super drivers and Honda Pilot drivers I give them a little shed a little bit of Tesla driver shit. You know again, there's always exceptions, but I find more often than not, there are certain people I do not get along with. I think if you're listening to this podcast, you probably agree for the most part unless you're one of the rare exceptions to the rule, especially a Subaru driver shout out to my boy Jeff. Love giving him a hard time about the Subarus. Anyways, I am getting ready to lose my mind on Halloween eve with the kids. So I'm gonna go and let you enjoy this week's episode episode 43 of the lovable idiot podcast. Have a great Halloween and let's go now welcome back to another episode of the wobbly Podcast. Today is episode 43. And I am fired up again this week. Last to talk about what's going on this past weekend. Little bit late as usual. This show is on track but I am always just a couple of days behind. Lots of things going on. It's a very busy time fourth quarter started the holiday season the Halloween is this week. My least favorite holiday of the year besides Easter. So much to talk about so many things bothering me this week. Maybe you feel bothered by some of these things. So I don't really have a theme for this week's show. Although I think it is going to be a little bit heavy on the fashion choices of the world coming from the guy that is six foot eight 325 pounds wears. Under Armour everything with these shorts, leggings, compression, this that down to the shoes depending on the shoe of the day. Yeah, fashion is a big part of life. And I have very strong opinions about it. Always have probably started in Miami once I lost all the weight after my freshman year of college I had very advanced very into Miami, still in fashion, still, in fact still have a fashion line, although I am redoing that in the process of redoing that now. So yeah, there's just a ton of things on my mind. I thought we'd discuss some of those things. It's not necessarily about fashion but it is interesting how a lot of things I want to talk about this week are tied to fashion. Yeah, so I don't even know how to hop into these transition into these this week's topic. cuz they're all over the place. But I just did a little research right before hopping on to record this episode. Obviously, as usual, I'm sweating to death. Fresh off a run, I'm a little annoyed, I'll be honest. And listen, this has nothing to do with my thoughts or anybody's thoughts on vaccinations and things like that. But I did get my flu shot and another round of whatever. Yesterday, two shots, and I am surprisingly sore and surprisingly tired now, whatever you may think I just, I do these things. I never did them before. My stroke and diagnosis with Ms. Um, you know, to each their own I, anybody who wants to do whatever it you're about to you make the choice, whatever you feel best. I just do them because I just know I pumped a hell of a lot more shit that was bad for me into my body years ago. To me, there's no downside of these things. But I'll be honest, I never had a flu shot except for one time before my stroke and like 2017 I wound up getting the flu. I do, I do kind of still believe that's a thing. Although I've had decent success, since I stroke into the MS diagnosis, seemingly to keep things at bay. So fingers crossed, it works out. Or maybe I should cross my fingers. Anyways, a little sore, a little cranky from that wound up not recording last week because I was busy being a father, husband, dad. And I had to say goodbye to my truck that I bought a few years ago. Because I decided that my daughter should upgrade her vehicle, she drives away more than I do at this point. I really just drive very locally, I don't do as much driving as I used to I feel much better. After you know a couple of years out for my stroke about driving, feel confident. But I again, I don't need to drive more than a couple miles. Any given day, rarely, rarely, rarely. Honestly, I drove back and forth to the gym. It came down to the fact that her car was getting a little older. You know, so I decided to switch cars and let her trade my truck in for her new truck that I would have rather kept her. I would rather she kept the truck that was mine and drove that till the wheels fell off. But there is no reasoning or rationalizing with a 21 year old female. So there we go. So I was buying a new car on Friday, which is a painful when you're a father, it's just you think you finally get it. I have three kids 21, nine and seven. And the older they get, the more expensive they get, which is hard to believe. And I've had some eye opening moments in the last three or four years like paying for college is a big pain in the ass. It is a hard pill to swallow. Getting rid of my truck, so I can allow my daughter to get her new car and truck. She needed no, but she definitely needed an upgraded car. I kind of pushed for this one a little bit, honestly. But it's interesting. As you get older, as your kids get older, you end up spending more money in a good way. But it's also painful because it's like now I'm spending money that I've earned or accumulated throughout my life. And I get zero in return. And that is a very hard pill to swallow. I mean, it is good, but it is also difficult. I'd rather spend it on myself. I'd rather spend it on my wife. I'd rather spend it just any other way then. I mean, I'm happy to spend it on her, but I would love to spend less. So yeah. Anyways, that was fun that a busy weekend with the kiddos. A lot of running because I missed out on some running. The lowest mileage in a long time on Friday only ran like seven miles on Friday. So I of course ran a marathon on Saturday ran 20 something miles yesterday, getting back on track and getting ready for this week this morning. Now I'm recording. But yeah, those are some tough things going on in my life. I'm fired up about them. Again, it's a blessing and a curse to be able to do these things as a father and a parent. And it's honestly just a tough, tough pill to swallow because I guarantee anybody out there who has children would easily agree with me. I think we'd all rather buy ourselves a new vehicle and not our child. So speaking of weird things, I do want to talk about other vehicles because I just purchased the vehicle. But that is not first topic. The first topic is the other US Money, which I have never heard at University of Michigan called you him, but I also never pay attention to the University of Michigan. And they gotta be honest, this whole thing going on with Harbaugh, and the Michigan sign stealing and the scandal that is sort of breaking I love good scandal always have way all the way back, you know, whether it was Clinton in the 90s or Joey about a few QBO or OJ or just all any good scandal that is based in some sort of reality or weird reality. Another favorite of mine is Eliot Spitzer. And actually, Dupree that's a big one. That's actually kind of what spurred the thought of this. This comment I'm about to make. I never trust a guy who wears khaki pants over the age of 18. Or is wearing khaki pants outside of the workweek now khaki pants to me I went to Catholic high school I went to private Middle School, a bunch of different schooling a little bit of public school. khaki pants and all Polo was kind of though thing that I was used to and I find my distaste for that comes from probably wearing it for a long time in school. It was honestly it was great for school because it was like pick a color white or blue khakis, you know, pick color khaki or blue pants. Very simple. Good you know, I played a lot of golf. So golf again, you know, we wear a lot of khaki pants and a golf shirt or polo shirt, same thing. But at some point, you know, I guess I guess that's where my hatred for khakis comes from. But it's weird when you watch sports and you watch coaches. They all have a different style a different sense of dressing. You know Bella Bella, check with Bella check with the the hoodies and the cutoff hoodies. A lot of coaches were athletic pants, things like that. I know this is really weird topic. But the getting to a point here and the point is I don't really trust the guy who wears khaki pants. I don't trust the guy in a blue blazer. I don't trust the guy in a loafer. Honestly, unless you're on television, hosting a show or you know, you get it in the television world. It makes sense whether you're on the news or a sports show, you know, always just a little bit nicer. It's just I don't know there's something about dress socks and khaki pants. I just have a strong distrust to people that wear those. It's like they're trying too hard, and I don't believe them. And lo and behold, now, to be fair, I believe Kyle Shanahan coach of the 40 Niners wears a lot of khakis. You know, there's a lot of coaches that do this, but there's just something about Harbaugh. In particular, Jim Harbaugh coach of Michigan that I just don't trust the guy. Very much like you can wear dress socks and B, I often associate dress socks with politicians. I don't know why. I don't know why but I don't trust them. I don't like them. They're gross. I think all the way back to Eliot Spitzer because I remember that story on Howard Stern with actually debris you know, and it's always these creepy guys throughout history that are like involved in some sort of scandal some sort of activity that you know, isn't the best I'm not to eat their arm but like it's, you always hear like a little bit of weird thing like, it's I remember the Eliot Spitzer thing, specifically because I think So Drew Brees said this way back on Howard in like 2008 2009 that he kept his socks on. It's just, I don't know, it's just a weird thing. Something I just, I think that's why I just have a strong mistrust. And honestly, they're weird choices. And again, Harbaugh to me has always put on this like this attitude, this persona, I it's just like, the people that try too hard to be good are never the people that are good. And I think that's true through a lot of things. You know, maybe it's out of change that things are shifting, but I don't know. It's just it's a fashion choice. It's not a bad one. I'm sure there are plenty of normal human beings and men that wear khakis. Listen, there's a time and a place I just feel like on the golf course as part of like a semi business casual work attire. You know, anytime you're wearing a polo shirt and a pair of khakis, that's fine. I feel like if you're just if you're casually at home and spending time with your family, khakis isn't the first thing I would think put on but if you really liked them, more power to you. I'm just not a fan and just socks. I just have a Weird thing with socks. I think I can't stand. I've talked about it before on this show. You know, it's not a generational thing necessarily, but I've noticed a lot of younger kids were like older socks, like remember the 80s and 90s tube socks with stripes and like wild things are kind of coming back and I just hate hate when people wear socks that are visibly dirty and gross. Like just throw them out, get a new pair, do some bleach like Tara, and I definitely know that my distrust for her dress socks comes from, you know, all those weird experiences and those weird stories again, like Eliot Spitzer. I just don't like wearing dress socks period, that just kind of gross me. Probably a little, probably a little autistic in that way. Like I don't like the feeling I don't like the the look. They're just strange. And again, this kind of ties into another thing that's been bothering me lately, because I've seen a trend. If you've ever noticed the people that wear all black sneakers and I'm talking like all black Reebok, all black Nike. I love a good shoe, that black shoe but has a little bit of weight, a little bit of color. I'm talking about just like these, it's always the people that are just like they have this attitude you're all talking about. You see them sometimes it's the gym, and it's just like they are black socks. Which is nothing wrong with that nothing with especially like a low cut or you know, I played a ton of basketball. I wear a lot of black. There's just something ultra aggressive about an all black shoe. Typically, I've never found one that I really loved that didn't have some even like the soul is white. You know, something has a little bit of something other than black. It says it's Anna. I don't know how to explain it. I don't really know why it bothers me. It's it's probably the stupidest thing ever, if I'm being honest, but it just there's an attitude that sometimes I see people with all black sneakers that just walk around like this like, bro, you're not that hard. There's there's two people at my gym. I guess this is why I think about it because I go to the gym almost every day. And there's two or three people at my gym. And they're male and female. And so it doesn't matter what what you're who you are. I'm judging everybody that wears black all black and they walk around like there's just a walk that they have, but it's like they're not cool. They're not casual. They're not fun. They're just like, just look at are generally assholes. Like they just walk around like they got a stick up their ass. It's strange, strange people. I don't know how else to explain it. It's just, they're walking around like this and like, I don't know, again, to each their own. It's just a weird thing I've noticed. You know, that's, that's more of the topic this week is fashion choices and things like that. But it's a weird people behind the fashion choices more so you know, dress socks, again, I find those people to be listed there are plenty of people that wear all these things that are perfectly fine, because there's even an exception to it. Another thing I'm going to talk about belly with khakis. I'm just thinking about it. I just saw a note. State Farm and Jake from State Farm. I remember they always say those commercials with khaki pants. And like, that's funny to me. And that is like, you know, a job. That's wear khakis or fine. Like you're working in a small office doing that kind of thing. Like not trying too hard. You're just wearing a polo and khakis like you're at work. Makes total sense, right. I feel like they kind of make fun of khakis like a casual approach to it. Anyways, I don't know all that to say. And I'm curious, do you agree? Do you find that some people just see, it's, I don't know if it's just the person in general, I had no idea that side blows. But generally speaking, there is some kind of correlation for me, you tween what a person is wearing their attitude. And then what I wind up thinking of that person and generally that type of person and it seems to be a thing. And speaking of cars, because we were talking about that earlier. And it's funny because I taught I talked about this at the dealership the other day had a great experience, by the way with the dealership we went with here in Jacksonville. And the the salesperson that we were working with totally agreed with me and I feel vindicated as you because a lot of people seem to agree with this. There are certain cars that certain people drive and generally speaking, again, not always because I have exceptions to both of these rules. But two in particular that stick out to me are Honda Pilot drivers and Subaru drivers They're just a certain type of person. With a Subaru it's a little different. There's, they're a little, I'll be honest. This I'm generalizing you call me whatever you want. But a lot of times, it does seem to be an earthier person. Here a lot of times like, Oh, it's so safe. Like, honestly, every car is safe if you're not an asshole, and you're driving a smart car, again, to each their own. If you'd like a Subaru, more power to you, I mean, I've just never felt compelled to even test drive one. So I might be missing out if I'm being totally honest on because just from an observational standpoint, I just always the people that I see and know who drives Subarus generally are people that I don't enjoy. And I try and then that winds up being true almost every time. Whether I see somebody getting a Subaru or get out of a Subaru and walk into the store, I then have an experience where I run into that person or they're rude or it's you know, and two exceptions, I have to I have former coworker that had a Subaru. They were great. One of my best friends, Jeff has a Subaru. He's easy. I love Jeff. He's the man who we've been friends for 25 years. I still make fun of them for it. Because I just never saw him as a Subaru guy. But he's the exception. So there's always an exception. Nothing is down. But it is it is interesting. You know, same with a Honda Pilot. I think a lot of times, my I know people have them who I enjoy. I find here in my particular area. Everybody that drives a Honda Pilot just has a particular attitude and a particular way of being you know, I do run a lot in my neighborhood. So I see a lot of these cars, a Honda Pilot seems to be a very popular choice in my community. It's a good car, if you don't want like a minivan, it's there's nothing wrong with that if you need that space. Fine. But they're also the people that like, either aren't paying attention or always apparent in a rush like I don't know. More often than not, they're doing something that is bothering me and getting me fired up. So I just have a weird mistrust of them. Again, there's plenty of people that have these cars that are lovely people. I know a lot of people who have them who I actually enjoy. But most of the time, there are people that I do not enjoy. And again, I'd be curious to hear if other people think this because I think Subaru and Honda Pilot, from my small sample of unscientific research seems to be a thing. And then again, Tesla's also is kind of the third vehicle. Again, lots of great people that drive a Tesla, watch drivers who drive a Tesla, who I don't think to be driving a Tesla because they can't drive. They couldn't drive a golf cart safely. So they probably shouldn't drive a 50 $60,000 car. And yes, it is self driving. But you still have to be somewhat that adept at driving a vehicle because it's not that self driving a cannot. Yeah. You have to be somewhat competent as a driver. You know, I wouldn't let my seven year olds drive a Tesla. So yeah, you have to be able to drive a little bit. And sometimes that is questionable. Again, my experience my area could be very serious. I'm sure it's very specific because I don't really leave the neighborhood and immediate five mile radius from my house most of the time. If I can avoid it. Um Oh, and one thing I forgot to back back to the clothing all over the place today for this episode, but back to polo shirts and khakis. And can we can we all agree that it's just weird? If you're over the age of like, 10 Why are we buttoning the top button maybe I learned this because you know, my dad used to dress up early in his career and the EDS definitely wore suits by the 90s he had switched to a more business casual attire. I think you see that a lot in the city in the finance world. It's and I don't know maybe because I'm used to wearing like if I'm wearing a dress shirt, either with a tie or without and so if you're with a tie you button that top button to tie your tie. If you're wearing a polo shirt, you usually unbutton the top button. Same thing if you're not wearing a tie with a dress shirt usually unbutton the top button. It's always weird to me when a grown ass adult male or female buttons the top button and is not wearing a tie. I just think that is a very strange look again to each their own but I thought that was like and maybe it's just the way I grew up. Maybe it's where I grew up. It just seems I even see people on TV who are grown as adults. And it's like, why are you buttoning the top button? What is with that? That's a weird choice. I mean, I'm sure there are shirts where it makes sense. I have yet to really experience that. But I could be sold on the fact that you're not wearing a tie or some kind of neck thing with that dress shirt, but it makes sense to button the top button. But again, that's the probably the exception, not the norm. And I'm thinking to Ryan Clark from ESPN, because he does a lot. A lot Ryan Clark, he's He's great. He's great commentary. He's a great host and guest on all the ESPN shows. Awesome, dude, from what I can tell. It's just a weird, strange look. And maybe it's maybe maybe it's a thing that I'm just not familiar with. Maybe it's a cultural thing. Maybe it's a no, I have no idea. It's just an interesting choice. Because certainly, like, yeah, I don't know. I just saw that note, and I could not say something about it. Um, yeah. Because the crap out of me. Um yeah, but you know, thinking about the drivers, those cars particular I love. The thing that always gets me about Subarus is people are preaching safety. I mean, really, I'm sure it's safe bar. It reminds me of like bonobos in the 80s and 90s. Everybody had a Volvo station wagon for a long time, because they were the safest vehicle at that time. And again, generally speaking, I think if you're a driver who's reasonably competent, you're paying attention and you're not doing silly, stupid things. Most vehicles are pretty safe. Yeah, always exceptions always going to be a thing. If you'd like it, you'd like it. And that's fine. I just wish more people would say, Hey, I liked this car. That's why I bought it. So don't hide beyond the fact that it's like safe. I mean, I don't know. I just It's, uh, it's strange. But, you know, I was just thinking about that, because we again, we purchased a new vehicle. My daughter was talking about the Broncos because they were at the Ford dealership. And he's like, No, they don't get good safety ratings. Okay. She also wanted a Jeep a couple of years ago. And she's calling in the middle of my recording. Sorry about that. And yeah, that was super annoying. Sorry about that. Let me turn that off. In the middle of this episode. Um, yeah. So I'm super pumped to be a dad revving the shittiest car in the house. That's fun. Um, what else? What else? What else? Yeah, that's honestly, I know. We're only like 24 minutes in but I am just fired up about those kinds of things. I'm sorry. It's funk call was super annoying. I thought I had my phone on. Silent. Mm hmm. I know this super interesting. Yeah. So this show I mean, I love doing this show, I think I think going forward Yeah, that's so yeah, so So this show in particular, I really want to do at least three times a month, I'd like to get this to weekly. This week is not the most prepared show, I thought I had more notes and things to go over. I thought it'd be more fired up about khaki pants. You know, it will be interesting to see what happens with Jim Harbaugh because I feel like he's gotten in trouble a few times. He already started the year in trouble. And I'm not rooting against the guy. Like, he's just like, here's my deal with this. Like, and I know I have a little dislike for Michigan because they're the other UL apparently. Although I'd never confuse the two because I'd never understood who would want to go to Michigan when you go to Miami. It just seems like I'd pick Miami every time then again. I went there. I'm biased. I'm sure University Michigan is a beautiful campus. But it's fucking cold. Who wants to be there? I just don't get it. But I was a big fan of the Fab Five in the 90s. So I also get that they have a good football team. They have a good basketball program. They have a good sports program. It is a good state school in the Midwest, so I get the appeal for some people. Okay, And I'm just here's the thing with Michigan is that they, and a lot of schools do this. And Miami is not immune to Miami has always been when they're doing something wrong, they're doing it right in the open, they're not even trying to joke about it. They're not even trying to kid about it. They're they're just doing it until somebody stops them. At least that's been the way it's been in the past. And for all the hate they've gotten over the years, they've been very open and brazen about it at times, especially in the 80s 90s and 2000s. And so I guess I've been okay with it. I don't like when people hide it. And they're not being like, I just don't like the goody two shoes approach the oh, we're not doing this, we're not doing that. And then they wind up being doing exactly what everybody was accusing them of. And I think I just saw a report, I have no idea, the validity of the report, but it looked like, you know, our ball was saying like, let's just let it play out. And it's like, well, why? That to me, I mean, I don't think there's just some guy on the staff, randomly buying tickets, all these games going out and recruiting and trying to steal signs. And, you know, I don't remember the minutiae of football. But I just feel like, if you have a good team, you have good players. Sure, you're always looking for a competitive advantage. And you're looking, you know, everybody, even myself as a stroke survivor, it's like, okay, what are the things that I could do to like, maybe get a little bit of time back on this or that or improve and like, you know, there is that thing, but I don't know, I think when you're, when you're at that level, and you're being paid a ton of money, I think focusing on the things that you can control, coaching your players doing the best goddamn job you can do as a coach and a leader. You know, again, college is still young men playing football. And the goal for most a lot is to try to, one, get them an education to build a solid football program that is just always good, doesn't always have to be the best in my opinion. But yeah, you want to have a good program, raise money, bring money into the school, because then as a coach, you get, you know, accolades and rewarded for that. But you're also building good players and young men, and sometimes women now that can either get a good education at the very least. Or they can go on to play in the NFL and have a successful career. And it's an even if they don't play in the NFL, you're still building the foundation for a good career after college football. It's just the you know, but I'm not a college coach. I can't speak to it. I know it's easier said than done, just like everything else in life. Now, it's kind of like being a dad. It's it's, it's not without its challenges. Yeah. So I don't know. I don't know what to think that I just think he has had some issues throughout his career and a lot more than I guess, other coaches. You know, I've been pretty vocal, at least at home about Dabo Sweeney and Clemson with my daughter, obviously, going there for the first two years of school. And, you know, everybody has opinions about every coach and every school. That's just the way it is these days. But you know, as much as I love Alabama, despite my history and ties, family connections, Alabama and Miami, like you don't generally see. There are coaches that I don't love for reasons that I can't even explain, like, like Saban like Dabo, but they also generally are staying within the parameters of what you'd expect and yes, sometimes there's a thing here or there even Kirby smart at Georgia. There's a little bit of this and a little bit of that, you know, honestly, I can only imagine trying to control like 100 college football players at a big time school. You know, you do the best you can you have a program you have things in place. But it just seems like Harbach seems to be over and over just having issues and it is never seemed to just always like a very wild, loose shoe baits that's untied. I guess that's a terrible analogy, but even Kirby smart with, you know, some of his buyers who have gotten in trouble at Georgia, it's kind of a one off, you know, savings, same like there's a bit of a hiccup here or there but don't often get swept under the rug or brushed under the rug, but it's handled much better. And I think and when they do it, they're just like, hey, You know, I did the best I can. These young men, I try to guide them, I try to help them sometimes. Sometimes it is the players fault, and they have to take that responsibility. Yes, it's coach's fault, do that take some responsibility. But at the end of the day, Nick Saban is not watching and sticking with every single player 24/7 365. That's unrealistic. So sometimes it's just a player making a bad choice or a bad decision that becomes bigger than it used to be. But a lot of like, this thing going on with Michigan right now is just like, this is a thing that isn't player specific. This is this is this is somebody on his staff. And I gotta be honest, I don't think anybody on his staff is doing something without his knowledge is just wild. I mean, I don't know. I also don't understand. I mean, I've seen those signs of college football like I don't know, I think if you just play hard, and you train and you watch the film, that you're allowed to and supposed to watch as coaches and players. And you do your job, as opposed as coach and a player like, yeah, sometimes you'll get caught. Sometimes you'll be out of position, sometimes things will happen. But if you're generally doing the right things, you're playing hard. You're not injured. You know, you should be able to It's not rocket science, like It's Rocket Science is a lot fucking harder. Idea. It's just weird to me. But I know what happens. And I know it's not the only program I just think. Where'd you grow up? Like, you can't figure out how to like if you're gonna cheat cheat better. I guess that's That's the moral of the story. Stop being an idiot. Yeah, it just bothers the hell out of me. And I bring it all back to khaki pants. Because it never trust somebody in khaki pants. Or a blue blazer or a loafer over the age of like, 18 with the one exception, but I guess I guess technically, if it's the exception, because it is his job, but I feel like khaki pants belong in office shop not on the sidelines of a college or NFL football game. If I'm being honest. And yeah. Anyways, I don't know. Those are a lot of things I have to talk about this week. I know it's not the greatest episode, but you know, that's just where I'm at it. We're kind of going into the holiday season things are getting weird. This week is Halloween. I am trying to avoid that like the plague. I really don't enjoy Halloween at all never have now that I don't eat candy, I don't really care about it. I'm trying to. I'm not one of those parents. But I would love for the boys to stop eating candy. But yeah, I also I get it they they're under 10 they're solving fun. I will say though, one thing I dislike is the school that they attend is they don't look more costumes to school, which is really weird. I don't know. I always kind of understood the mask thing. And a weapons like that all makes sense to me. But like the no costume the school like I don't know. Are we getting a little extreme? Is that big deal. It's one day a year like the elementary school does not like the dressing up as like little you know? It starts getting a lot probably a little weird in middle school and high school for sure. Definitely College. Like I don't know, just that the kids dress up who cares? Like even even somebody even myself I hate. I'm not a big fan of Halloween. I don't really care. I listen my distaste for Halloween. Now I'm Trump. I don't want to hang out with other parents. I don't want to walk. I mean, if my kids wanted to just go out and trickery, like three hours and come home. Fine, but I don't want to walk with them. Like I got other things to do. I mean, I love my kids, but they don't need me to babysit them. They can ride a bike. Stay in the neighborhood. I mean, I just thought about this weekend when I saw a bunch of grown ass adults dressing up for Halloween and like sharing Halloween pictures. I'm just like, why? I don't get it. And maybe it was just golden grubbing. I mean, I'm sure that's the case. But I know. There are lots of things I love doing with my kids. I love hanging out with my kids. In fact, it's one of my favorite things to do, despite my wife thinks. I just don't always like want to go to the park in the middle of a Sunday. I'd rather do something else like anything. But my favorite time is hanging out with my boys and my daughter and my wife just at home. I kind of have grown to love that part of life and fatherhood. And honestly, I'd rather just buy them a bunch of candy and sit at home and watch some movies rather than walking around the neighborhood trick or treating. I don't know. Again, teats are on I know that's a big thing when you're a kid. It's fun when you're a kid I remember specifically at some point you just Write it. And, you know, for me when I grew out of it, I grew out of it entirely. And now as a parent, I don't really want to walk around and I don't think I'm, I was thinking about that when I was running. I was like, you know, again, I'm a kid of the 90s so like mom and dad that are just like, alright, well, you can go trick or treating with your friends and neighborhood or their neighborhood and like, it just was a different time. I guess and they didn't really care here just like be home by this time. Okay. And I was I trickery did I use get shit tons of candy, but I never recall my mom or dad walking with us. Maybe if we went to another neighborhood that was unfamiliar. But that's really a stretch. And I'd have to think about that some more. I'm obviously I can ask them since they're not around anymore, but I definitely know my father. Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever in my life. Walked around with us on Halloween that I'm certain the exception might be my mother might have done it a handful of times. And again, that usually involves her driving us somewhere a little bit different than our usual neighborhoods, kids. Because we lived in a neighborhood not dissimilar to the one we live in now. There's enough places giving out candy that you can make killing as a kid he can get more than that off candy. enough candy that you wind up having to throw some candy out by the time mid November comes around because it's just getting gross and yucky and disgusting discussing and I'm sure we're gonna be doing that again this year. But yeah, so that's my take on Halloween. Things I'm watching on Netflix. I really been enjoying the Tyson fury. I know what you want to call it. I guess it's like a little bit of a his reality show. That's pretty good. My youngest son. I have been watching that together, which is really weird. Yeah, he likes Tyson fury because he's a gay dad. He's like you are you're like him. And it's like, Yeah, except for I'm not Tyson fury, and I'm not a world heavyweight champion boxer. But I guess there is a similar look and size. And so yeah, he's been enjoying that. He's my little man is an interesting 30 He wants to get into boxing and a little bit of MMA, which is a unique thing for a seven year old. We're gonna see about that coming up in a couple weeks. Talking to my wife about it. We're gonna we're gonna look into that some more because he seems to really be into it and I'm not against it. I just don't know that he needs started seven but we'll see. And then. Yeah, I think it's at home with the Furies. That's a really good show. Oh, what's the other one on Netflix that I'm watching? Ooh, the animated one. Oh, what's it called? The show that I really liked with Nick. Nick Kroll Show. on Netflix animated series. Got it. It's killing me. I gotta look it up Hang on, hang on. Bear with me. This is why I am hiring a producer to work with me on the other show. Because it is oh, big mouth. How can I forget? Yeah, it's really one of my favorite shows. I just forgot the name of it. There's no reason despite Yes, Season Seven just released recently. I will be mouth is that it's just one of those shows. That brings me a little bit of joy to myself in the evenings. It's the stupidest, funniest adult cartoon. I love an adult cartoon. I always love the Simpsons a little family guy. I love big mouth. I know. Bill Barr had an animated show for a while that I really like oh efforts or something I forget. But I like that show as well. Anyway, those two shows are really good books. So reading the Arnold book, really good read I talked about on my other show. Whatever you may think of Arnold, but I think the book is a worthwhile read. Again, I'm the kind of person that reads all books of any kind, I can always drive some kind of value out of some kind of book. And if I don't put it down, I picked blue. Which I don't think a lot of people do and it took me a long time to just, you know, if a book isn't resonating with me, and I'm just not mood I either put it down and pick it back up later or I just never wind up reading it and that's fine. I you know, I try to be a little smarter now but the books that I buy and if I'm not sure I go to the library and either take it out or rent it on whatever. Um, but yeah, there's some good books and usual podcasts that I'm enjoying still. All the y m h, your mom's house podcast. spurts cast, but he had a new one. Last week that was really interesting. With the guy whose net worth the DNA code, just interesting, interesting stuff. working on some new things, getting ready to start working with producer for lovable survivor podcast next week, which I'm excited about. So we've got a lot of things on my plate that I need to get done this week after Halloween this week, and yeah, so I'll be back next week with episode 44 of Omonia podcast but this has been a pretty good episode, Episode 43 A lot of weird fashion choices and the mistrust around certain things and certain certain weird things that I find strange again, I'd love to hear if you think about if you have any topics Yes, you want to be a guest on the podcast you can email me directly will it be that Tom love to hear from me love to hit me up on social think lovable out on X, Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok, you can also find me on LinkedIn, if that is your preferred network, I'd love to get in touch with people. Like I said, I'm working out with a producer for the other show really gonna start having guests. Getting that under wraps. And I think it's time to start having guests over here on this show, because a lot of interesting people doing a lot of interesting things in life. And yeah, just want to evolve both the shows and really going into 2024 with a new focus and a new or a little bit of a new direction, both shows and just more consistency. Again, sorry about being late this week. That is you know, this show is sort of the secondary show at this point at the moment. And so I'm trying to be consistent but it's not a perfect world. I just try my best and yeah, curious to hear your thoughts and My
